Our Projects

Upper Hixon Pump Track

Do you have a spare hour or so and aren't sure what to do with your time? The Pump Track is a spot made for moments like these. Located atop the bluff and alongside the Upper Hixon trails puts this little gem in the right spot for you to get a quick after-work session in, a warm-up before you tackle a downhill trail or bring the whole family with to find yourselves picnicking and biking with other friends in the community.

Backyard Pump Track

Personal playground for kids & adults right in my backyard? Yes Please.

These custom jobs are some of our favorites and we are stoked to hear about your ideas to bring recreation into your very own space.

Grandad Bluff Gateway Trails

Trail construction was completed in October of 2020, with VeloCity Projects building about 1/3 of the total trail and Rock Solid Trail Contracting taking on the rest. It's completion provides users more than 5 miles of scenic meandering access to one of the area’s most iconic parks. Users can access the newly developed trails by one of three access points.

These trails prove to be an important connector for community members and our natural world. Users of all skill levels will find something suitable for them within the Grandad Bluff Trails System including a family-friendly loop that encourages unstructured experiential nature play. These trails provide a safer opportunity for community members to connect from the city to the top of the bluff without walking or riding on a road.

Community Forest

Through the La Crosse Community Forest project, we're improving community health in the area between State Road School and Chad Erickson Park through conservation, recreation, and education.  Along with the land managers, including the City of La Crosse, La Crosse County, and the School District of La Crosse, we're developing forest improvements, recreational infrastructure, and educational zones and programming to help students & residents improve mental and physical health by making green spaces easier to access and use.

This evolving project has been so fun to work on and we're enjoying being a part of its growth and development.

Lueth Bike & Skate Park

Lueth Park has been a skateboarder's haven in La Crosse for many years, but with the 2018 updates the park now provides space for skateboarding, bikes, scooters, roller-blades and other wheeled recreation. Jed & VeloCity took the lead on this project and saw his vision come to life with the teamwork of ORA Trails and the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation & Forestry.

On a warm evening you'll find all ages gathered at the 'Pump Track' to share in their favorite wheeled sport.

Backyard Playground

Even grown-ups enjoy a backyard like this! We pull in as many natural resources as possible to create an outdoor space that feels like the playground we all grew up with.

A 24 ft slide drops into a natural log jungle-gym that's beyond life sized. The finished product is the coolest backyard in the neighborhood.

Highland Park

We worked with other companies like Dirt Monkey Excavating, Coulee Region EcoScapes and the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation & Forestry to create a perfect neighborhood oasis.

It's easily one of La Crosse's most unique parks, packing in over 300 plants, a double slide, a buddy swingset, shade shelter, rain cistern and many natural log play features into a surprisingly roomy 3,500 sq ft. This neighborhood received a well-deserved face-lift!
